The Metreon
Sony built this ultramodern multiplex of entertainment with 15 theaters, including an IMAX theater with the largest screen in the US. They screen both regular and 3D movies there. There’s a Sony Playstation store with demos of current games and more. There used to be 2 Starbucks here, but things changed when the dot com world went downhill. There are 6 restaurants, one with a bar.
The Air Tight Garage is a cutting edge video game arcade with larger then life video bowling. We recently saw Robin Williams and his kids there. Wander around and enjoy the newest products from Sony in the SonyStyle Store. It’s all fun. Mission and 4th is the main part and it opens out to the Yerba Buena Park, complete with waterfall and reflection pool.
Underground, is the conference center – Moscone Center. Explore. You’ll also find the Yerba Bueana Center for the Arts too. And there’s more, but you’ll have to see for yourself.
UPDATE: Some of the things have closed or changed, but it’s still worth visiting and it’s not so far out of the way that it would be a time waster. It’s a very cool place and the Yerba Buena Gardens outside is well worth some time too.
