The Chicken Dance!!! This crazy little dance always brings a smile to even the most sour puss face. It’s silly and overdone, but who cares. It’s fun and as the music speeds up becomes funnier and funnier … especially after a good German beer or two … or maybe three?
We went there last night and I hate to be negative, but we had the worst German food I’ve ever had. The Weinerschnitzel was thick, tough, over cooked, and tasted old. The green salad was a typical Merican salad of iceberg lettuce with Italian dressing. Hmmm. Not what I’d call German. To top it off, after we sat down and ordered a beer, we were informed there was a $7 charge EACH for entertainment. With the overpriced dinner and one beer each, we nearly hit $100 tab for two. WOW. Sorry, but that’s a lot for German food here or in Germany.
Three generations of Schroeders, in my family tree, have been eating there for a long, long time and it’s a shame that the old world place has gone sour.
If I were you, I’d go for a beer and leave it at that. Sad to think that this historical place has gone down hill. It could be so much better. I have an idea? Get some real Germans in there who know how to make great German cuisine.
The Chicken Dance was fun though.
