  Chinatown offers so many interesting shops and places to eat some great food. You’s Dim Sum on Stockton is a crazy Dim Sum shop that’s really cheap, but good. It’s not the cleanest looking place, but it’s good. There’s a Chinese cooking shop on Grant that’s filled with every type of pot, wok, and cleaver you’ll ever need. Bakeries abound on both streets, and if you see a shop selling barbequed pork stips in the window, get some to eat while you’re walking around. Explore and enjoy. My cousin Beki was amazed.

  Over 30% of San Francisco is of Asian descent. Having the influence of the Asian cultures adds a unique dimension to the city and certainly, Chinatown is a very interesting place to visit. For the most part, Grant Street is now made up of shops that cater to tourists hoping to get a glimpse of what if might have been like during the Gold Rush days. Sadly, it’s become a string of trinket, camera, and tee shirt shops. If you want to see where many of the working class Asians buy local produce, fish and dim sum (and much more), go to Stockton Street, one block up the hill from Grant. What an adventure!
