Fort Point – Under the Golden Gate Bridge

Fort Point Fort Point Under the Golden Gate Bridge

Fort Point

I just love this shot. It looks fake, huh? It’s not. I’m not sure I could ever get that shot again. The lighting was perfect and the fog was just right – not too much, not too little. This photo is totally original and unchanged.

You can take a bus ride from downtown, which is cheap and doesn’t take that long … maybe 30 – 45 minutes, with a transfer near Union Street, which could be a side trip on the way back. Ask your bus driver.

The bus takes you to the bridge and Fort Point is below the bridge and easy to find and get to. It’s all fun, and very worthile. There’s a lot more than this photo shows; so take time to explore. This was the fort that protected the bay; so there’s lots to see in the way of historical settings. It’s not a huge display, but worth an hour or so. Climb all over the whole place and you’ll see views to the water too.
