Every Easter, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a non-profit group here in SF, hosts a contest to find the best Jesus costume of the day. The event is held in Dolores Park, on Dolores Street, near the Dolores Mission. The park is filled with people of all ages, sexual orientation and costuming. It’s all done in the spirit of celebration of a day that’s a reminder of new beginnings. It’s a lot of fun. Prior to the Hunky Jesus Contest, there’s also an Easter Bonnet Competition.
