Roli Roti Thomas Odermatt 05 640x360 Roli Roti

If you love perfectly prepared rotisserie chicken and meats, you’ll love Roli Roti – a truck with a built-in rotisserie. Thomas Odermatt has become the authority for rotisserie due to his past in Switzerland, working in his father’s butcher shop and rotisserie. He uses only top quality meats and game. Chicken is the most popular and boy is it good. Unfortunately, it takes a little planning because the truck isn’t available all the time. Check their Web site for details and plan to go early because they run out. Also, you might plan to stand in line, but it moves quickly because they’re very organize … remember he’s Swiss.

You can get whole chickens or just meals and if you like, with perfectly roasted potatoes too. YUM! You might even catch Thomas there too. It’s quite obvious he loves what he does and always takes the time to chat with customers. More info and schecule … go to: www.roliroti.com

Here’s the front page blurb from their site:

RoliRoti is the country’s first and finest mobile rotisserie, serving only sustainably-farmed  meats and organic produce at their seasonal best. Available only at select farmer’s markets or for the catering of private parties, RoliRoti’s cuisine is prepared according to the innovative  recipes of Rotisseur Thomas Odermatt, one of the world’s foremost authorities on the art of rotisserie grilling and an expert in organic farming. One taste and you’ll understand why the
luminaries of the gourmet food world all agree that you will never find better grilled meat than at RoliRoti.

Well, some things never change and some things continue to change, like the Bay To Breakers annual run/walk/dance/crawl from Downtown San Francisco (a few blocks from the bay) to the Pacific Ocean. It’s a very doable distance for most people and I think everyone should do it at least once, in the name of tradition. There are serious runners, serious walkers, causes, corporate groups, people who just want to be crazy, people who just like to drink, naked people, and on and on. You will see EVERY type of person you can imagine. You’ll also see a collection of costuming – inventive, funny, tongue-in-cheek, stupid and non-existent. It’s a wild and crazy event that reflects the true diversity of our wonderful city. Watch and enjoy it all.

This bar is brought to us all by the same team that created Bourbon and Branch. Rickhouse doesn’t serve any fruit juice they don’t prepare onsite; so don’t ask for cranberry anything. They have punch bowls of drinks too, if you can get everyone to agree to the same drink. Novel idea, huh?

It’s dark in there, but not in a bad way. We were surprised that the prices are not bad, which is refreshing.

They’re at 246 Kearny Street, only a few blocks north of Market Street.

Oh, and the middle photo below includes the host of Chef Academy, Jean Christophe Novelli. You never know who you’ll see in San Francisco. Just keep your eyes opened.
