And Across the Street, The Fairmont Hotel
Right across the street is the Fairmont Hotel, which was recently remodeled and honestly, I think it’s lost something. The faux marble didn’t need to be added to the huge pillars. Plain paint would have been much nicer. The splendor of this classic old hotel should have stood on it’s own, without adding the fluff. It’s still a pleasure to visit and it’s certainly more sparkly than it used to be. Oh, the flags out front? They represent all the countries that are part of the UN, which started here in San Francisco.
