This little hidden shopping center is often overlooked, but it’s filled with some fun finds and great shopping. If you need a fabulous new suitcase, a fast tasty meal, or a quick chair massage for next to nothing, take a little (and I mean little … as in steps away) side trip off Market Street. It’s very, very close to Montgomery and Market. Discover it and let me know what you think?

This cute little hotel is perfect for a romantic weekend or a whole vacation. It’s across the street from the San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge, the Ferry Building and more. There are restaurants next door and steps away. Jogging along the water is a piece of cake. Walking to the cable car, BART, Muni, bus or street car lines are all about a block away. AND, the best part? Hotel Griffin isn’t even expensive. Free wireless and free continental breakfast makes it an even better deal.

This is just one celebrity sighting I happened to catch on film, or pixels, that is. Just walking around, we see famous folks all the time, but it’s a bit of a challenge to get a shot without being obvious, and I kind of hate to be one of “those” people who push their way into peoples lives. I have a shot of Robin Williams hanging out with his kids, right here on my blog. Just type his name in the search box to find him. The story was kinda funny. I saw him. He saw me with my camera. I pointed to my camera, as if to ask, “May I”? He nodded, as if to say, “OK”. I snapped the shot. We smiled at each other and parted … without a word.

This shot was taken a couple months ago, while I was having cocktails with friends, at the Intercontinental Hotel lobby bar, and in walked Gayle King. This pic is from my cell phone, and I thought I was being very surreptitious, until I looked at my shot. She was looking straight into the lens. Had I known, I would have at least waved and I’m sure she would have waived back.

Just keep your eyes opened while you’re here. You’ll never know who you’ll spot. I’ve seen Nicholas Cage, Gwyneth Paltrow, John Cleese, Bjork, and more.
