A San Francisco legend, this restaurant is frequented by long-time patrons and lots of tourists. It’s good, but not great. We went for a special lunch and both had the seafood saute, with crab legs, scallops, and shrimp in a white wine sauce with rice and Brussels sprouts (which were done to perfection). Everything was good, but nothing was outstanding. It was expensive, as in $25+ per lunch entry. In retrospect, I think a bowl of chowder (they have both Boston and Coney Island, which is rare). I think it’s worth a visit for the sake of the historical side, but I’ll think twice before going back for a big lunch. It’s a great spot for drinks and oysters or something simple. The white jacketed waiters are pros, who will take care of you, including your luggage, which they apparently they do all the time for people on there way in or out of town.
Tadich is charming and a reminder of how San Francisco was in the early years.
